How to price a dog groom
There's no single "right" price for grooming a dog — it depends on the breed, the coat, how often the dog is groomed, and where you work. But most UK groomers build a price from a few simple factors:
- Size and coat. A bigger dog, or a curly or double coat, takes more time and product.
- Condition. A matted coat is slower and tougher on the dog, so it's fair to charge more.
- Service. A full groom costs more than a bath and brush or a nail trim.
- Your area. Prices in London and the South East tend to run higher than elsewhere.
- You. Your experience, your overheads and how busy you are all matter — don't undersell your time.
