Dog grooming appointment reminder templates (SMS & email)

A good reminder is short, friendly and clear. Below are templates you can copy, paste and personalise for your grooming business — for both text and email. Swap the [bracketed] bits for the real details.

Prefer to grab them all in one place, alongside consent and intake forms? They're on our free templates page too, with one-tap copy buttons.

Appointment reminder (day before)

Keep it to one message. This is the one that prevents the most no-shows.

Hi [name], just a reminder that [dog]'s grooming appointment with [Business] is tomorrow at [time]. Reply to confirm, or let us know if you need to rearrange. See you then!

Booking confirmation

Send this the moment a booking is made, so the client has the details in writing.

Hi [name], your appointment for [dog] is booked in for [date] at [time] with [Business]. If anything changes, just give us a shout. Thanks!

Rebooking nudge (dog overdue)

The message that keeps regulars regular. Send it around the time a dog is due.

Hi [name], it's been about [6 weeks] since [dog]'s last groom — shall we get the next one in the diary? We've got space on [days] this week and next.

Missed appointment follow-up

Keep it warm, not stern — most people feel bad already, and you want them back.

Hi [name], we missed you and [dog] today — no worries at all. Just reply whenever you'd like to rebook and we'll find a slot that works.

Cancellation confirmation

Confirming a cancellation clearly avoids "did they get my message?" uncertainty.

Hi [name], that's all cancelled for you — [dog]'s appointment on [date] is now free. Message us any time to rebook.

Email vs SMS: which to use?

Use both where you can. Email is great for confirmations with more detail. SMS is best for the day-before reminder, because it gets read almost immediately — plenty of dog owners rarely open email. The combination catches the most people.

Stop copying and pasting. Furbase sends confirmations and day-before email and SMS reminders automatically, and nudges you to rebook dogs that are due — all under your business name. Try it free for 14 days.
